Myia, known as “Myiatheedoula” and affectionately called the “Village Guru” or “Big Sis,” is a Pennsylvania State Certified Doula with more than 20 years of experience uplifting grassroots organizations in both nonprofit and for-profit maternal health spaces. She has become a trusted advocate in her community, recognized for her ability to bridge ancestral wisdom with modern doula care.
Her work extends beyond supporting birthing parents; she nurtures entire families through pregnancy, postpartum, and co-parenting, ensuring that every member of the village feels seen and included. With deep compassion, cultural awareness, and authenticity, she guides BIPOC families toward holistic wellness while addressing systemic barriers in urban maternal health.
Myia is committed to reducing disparities by centering equity, dignity, and access in her care. She offers prenatal support, labor and birth guidance, postpartum healing, and newborn feeding education while strengthening family bonds across generations. To her clients and her community, she is more than a doula—she is a sister, a mentor, and a beacon of resilience who embodies the truth that “it takes a village.”
